On the dawn of November 8th, 2008, on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Hunt Hall, Room 143, Founder Jeremy Jovon Honey had a vision of a brotherhood like no other. Founder Honey sought to create a fraternal brotherhood free from stereotypical standards and modern-day conformity with the influence of African American Greek-lettered and non-Greek Lettered organizations in mind. The conception of Sophisticated Gentlemen was formed. He desperately sought out individuals who shared the same interests, displayed acts of chivalry, promoted scholarship, and selflessly answered the community's call. In the Spring of 2010, The second Founder, London Christopher Gordon, joined him in his quest for Sophistication. Dissatisfied with only one counterpart, Founder Honey and Founder Gordon noticed five other individuals who incorporated their dream through their everyday walk in life. In the Fall of 2010, These men were chosen and accepted the call to Sophistication, thus chartering the Alpha Chapter in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Thinking of the newly founded brotherhood, Founder Honey understood the need to step out on faith and create a foundation not only for the brotherhood aspect but also from a business perspective. On early Friday morning, November 19th, 2010, at approximately 8:20 am, The Fraternal Order of Sophisticated Gentlemen Incorporated became a legal non-profit organization within the Natural State of Arkansas. With acquiring such an accomplishment under their belt, The Gentlemen realized that their campus-wide dream had become bigger than they had once realized. They embarked on a mission to establish and expand their brotherhood as far as it would travel. Now, a decade later, with four chapters, 30+ members, and one vision later, standards are continuously raised, and we are continuing to break new barriers in the community and the world.
